A Natore court on Tuesday sentenced six people to life imprisonment for killing an elderly woman at Diarpara of Baraigram upazila in the district in 2012.
The convicts were identified as the victim's grandson-in-law Shamim, and her neighbours Milton, Ashraful, Selim, Abdus Samad and Shafiqul Islam.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Hasauzzaman also sentenced the victim's daughter-in-law Beauty Akhtar to seven years imprisonment and fined her Tk50,000.
According to the prosecution, Anguri Abedeni went missing on November 9, 2012. Her body was found after three days in a local banana orchard.
The involvement of the convicts was confirmed in a police investigation
