4 militants detained with explosives in Natore

Police have detained four militants in possession of bomb-making materials and local ammunition from Natore's Dighapatia on Tuesday. The detainees are: Anisur Rahman Anis, resident of Singra upazila's Arkandi village; Shafikul Islam and Fazlur Rahman Fazlu, both residents of Bagatipara upazila's Chapapukur village; and Zakir Hossain aka Zakir Master, resident of Naldanga upazila's Kholabaria village. Officer-in-Charge Abdul Hai of Natore Detective Branch (DB) said: “Acting on a tip-off, one of our teams conducted a raid in an area in Dighapatia union. After confirming militant activities, we cordoned off the hideout where the four were staying. “We made the arrests in the early hours of Tuesday.” Five cocktail bombs, 28 electric crackers, three liters of petrol, 100g granulated sulfur, a machete, two daggers, four Jihadi books, and an unregistered motorcycle have been recovered, among other items, at the time of arrests. Legal charges will be filed accordingly, the OC said.
