Prof Muhammed Zafar Iqbal has been brought in to Dhaka in a helicopter for better treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) after he was stabbed during a event in Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) on Saturday.
Earlier in the evening, Sylhet Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) Abdul Wahhab confirmed that Prof Iqbal would be transferred to the CMH.

Dr Debabrata Roy, deputy director at MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in Sylhet, where Prof Zafar was first taken, also confirmed that an air ambulance would take the eminent academic to Dhaka.
Dr Debabrata also said the medical reports say Zafar is out of danger at the moment.
