9 BCS cadres greeted with flowers, sweets during police verification

Nine meritorious students, who passed the 36th BCS examination in Barisal's Wazirpur Upazila, and their families were greeted by a police officer with sweets and flowers during police verification on Friday and Saturday. News of this rare incident has spread to the whole district. One of the successful students, seeking anonymity, said that he was also worried about harassment which often comes police verification. “I was astonished when a police officer came to my house and greeted me with sweets and flowers during verification. My family and I are overjoyed by this incident,” he said. Wazirpur Circle Police Super Mohammad Akramul Hasan, who went to the cadre's houses for police verification, admitted that people are concerned about harassment in the name of police verification. “To dispel the misconceptions, I decided to greet the nine meritorious students with sweets and flowers, after they passed BCS examination competing with thousands of students,” he said.
