Ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia route have resumed after four and a half hours of disruption caused by thick fog.
Salauddin, manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Aricha station, said the authorities suspended the ferry services on the route from 3am to 7:30am on Wednesday due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.
Seven ferries were stranded at Patuaria ghat and one at Daulatdia ghat while four ferries were stranded in the mid-river.
Due to the ferry service disruption, hundreds of vehicle remained stuck in a long queue stretching five kilometres from Zero point at Doulatdia ghat, said the official.
