Medical tests confirm rape of 4 women in Chittagong

Update : 19 Dec 2017, 03:23 PM
Medical tests have confirmed that four women were raped by robbers in a house at Karnaphuli upazila in Chittagong. Karnaphuli police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Syedul Mostafa told the Dhaka Tribune that the four women were sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Monday and that medical tests have confirmed they were raped. “We have already arrested two criminals and are interrogating them. We are hopeful of arresting the rest without any delay,” said the OC. Around 1am on December 12, four robbers aged around 20-25 entered a one-storey house, cutting open the window grill. They then raped the four women at gunpoint. The criminals left the house around 3am, taking away cash, jewellery and mobile sets, according to the women. Five days after the incident, the victims filed a case accusing four people under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act with Karnaphuli police station on December 17. "The husbands of the women are UAE expatriates. As the house is located in an isolated area, locals could not hear the victims' screams during the incident,” added the OC.
