4 killed as car plunges into Sunamganj ditch

Four young men were killed as a private car plunged into a roadside ditch in Chhatok upazila in Sunamganj on Friday evening. Police identified the deceased as Tofail Ahmed, 27, Raju Ahmed, 35, Sayef, 27, and Shahjahan, 32. The accident took place around 5:30pm Friday as the Sylhet-bound car carrying the four skidded off the road and fell into the ditch in Kalaruka union’s Ray Sontoshpur area, said Chhatok Police Station OC Atikur Rahman. The four had died on the spot while the driver was critically injured, he added. The driver was later sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College and Hospital.
