Three injured as Partex Aviation helicopter crashes in Naranyanganj

A helicopter of Partex Aviation crashed at Kanchan municipality of Naranyanganj on Tuesday, leaving all three on board injured. The injured are: pilot Lt Col (retd) Md Mizan, 46, co-pilot Squadron Leader (retd) Zia Islam, 38, and engineer Farrukh Ahmed, 45. They all were whisked off to Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka. “The pilot lost control while trying to land the helicopter, leading it to crash into a sand field from a height of over 400 feet,” said Md Ismail Hossain, acting officer-in-charge of Rupganj police station in the district. Chief engineer Squadron Leader Mohiuddin Ahmed, who is in-charge of the helicopter, said: “The aircraft was flown on an experimental basis from Tejgaon Old Airport on Tuesday after we had got it repaired. It crashed as the pilot was trying to make an emergency landing after a technical glitch had been detected.
