Police have recovered the body of Nakla Upazila chairman from his residence at Kursha in Sherpur.
His body was found on Friday.
The deceased is Mahbub Ali alias Manir, 65, a former joint convener of district unit BNP.
Informed by locals, police recovered Manir's body, hanging from the ceiling fan of his house around 8am, said Khan Abdul Halim, officer-in-charge of Nakla Police Station.
Police suspected that Manir might have committed suicide.
Manir used to live at the house with his second wife, the OC added.
