Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) on Wednesday detected radioactive substances inside nine sacks of a container which had been sealed by Chittagong Customs House on August 22.
Earlier, BAEC collected samples from the seized container and sent it to Dhaka for examination.

A nine-member team of BAEC headed by Debashish Pal, chief scientific officer at BAEC, started removing the radioactive substances from the container on Monday.
According to BAEC, there were around 48 sacks of zinc oxide in the container. Chittagong-based Citadel Global Corporation was supposed to export the container to China.
