Police yesterday seized movable wealth of Nur Hossain from his Siddhirganj house in Narayanganj yesterday complying with a High Court order.
Police conducted the drive around 3:15pm after the copy of HC order reached them, confirmed Md Alauddin, officer-in-charge of Siddhirganj Police station.
Narayanganj Executive Magistrate Abul Kashem Md Shaheen who led the drive said a television, a refrigerator, sofa set, furniture and some pets were seized from Nur Hossain’s residence. The pet animals and birds will be handed over to the forest ministry.
An unlicensed revolver with eight rounds of bullets was also recovered from there.
The law enforcers had to break open the lock of the main gate to enter the house. Seven neighbours of Nur Hossain were witness to the drive.
The drive was still in progress at the time of filing of this report around 7:30pm.
