Narayanganj SP: Considerable development in seven-murder

Update : 11 May 2014, 09:09 PM

Narayanganj Superintendent of Police Dr Khandaker Mahid Uddin yesterday said many developments have been made into the investigation of the sensational seven-murder in the district.

“There are many creditable developments made into the case, but all of those are not clear. The arrest of Noor Hossain’s driver and his brother-in-law is a great achievement for us,” Khandaker made the remarks while addressing a press conference in his office.

The SP also said they have so far arrested 21 people and seven of them were shown arrested in the case. “We are not running mass arrests so that general people are not harassed. We are just conducting drives based on who can help the culprits by giving them shelter.”

“Our officials were working 18-22 hours daily to unearth the mystery behind the murder and I do not think 12 days are enough for such type of a big murder case,” he continued.

In response to a query, the SP said they have no information whether the alleged killers have left the country.

About questioning alleged three former high officials of RAB, he said: “We are not going against any specific organisation. We will interrogate all who we think are involved in the case.”

On finding video captured in Chandan Sarkar’s cell phone, the SP said many things there were not still clear and he was unable to make any immature remarks at the moment.

Later, the official declined to make any comment on yesterday’s arrest order of the HC against the alleged three RAB officials.
