The High Court has issued a suo moto rule asking why the RMCH interns who declined to give treatment to journalists should not be refused to be issued practicing licence.
The bench of Justice Kazi Rezaul Hoque and Justice ABM Altaf Hossain issued the rule on Thursday afternoon.
The court also wanted to know what action so far had been taken on the interns' refusal to treat journalists.
The respondents have been asked to give explanation by May 25
Health secretary, home secretary, director general of health department, director of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, Rajshahi University vice chancellor, deputy commissioner and Rajshahi superintendent of police and chief of Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council have been made respondents to the rule.
The court will give order in this regard on that day.
Interns at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital allegedly forced a local photojournalist out of the hospital last Tuesday and said there would be no treatment for the newsmen at the hospital.
The interns made the move after a few newsmen filed a case against the doctors for assaulting them on the night of April 21.
