Different non-MPO teachers’ organisations yesterday staged demo in Magura and Mymensingh, demanding their enlistment in the MPO (Monthly Pay Order).
Non-MPO Shikshak Karmachary Oikko Jote, Magura unit, formed a human chain in front of the Chourangi Square of the town, followed by a discussion on the topic.
Speakers at the programme said a total of 5,733 educational institutions in the country were yet to be enlisted in the MPO, while around 40,000 teachers of these institutions were passing their days in severe hardship.
The gathering, led by organisation’s President Abdur Rahim and General Secretary Nazrul Alam, later submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner of Magura.
On the other hand, the organisation’s Mymensingh unit also formed a human chain and submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner in this regard.
The human chain demanded that all recognised educational institutions be included in the MPO.
The programme was addressed, among others, byorganisation’s President Mohammad Suruzzaman and General Secretary Delwar Hossain Shibli.
