SMP to conduct drives against vehicles with tinted glasses

The government has banned the use of black or tinted glass on vehicles starting May 10, due to the recent rise in abductions in which such vehicles have been used. Additional Commissioner SM Rokonuddin said this at a press conference held at the headquarters of the Sylhet Metropolitan Police.

At the press conference, the additional commissioner Rokonuddin apprised reporters of the drives conducted by the SMP in the last one month.

He said six police stations under the Sylhet Metropolitan Police have arrested forty criminals during this period.

One microbus, one private car, three CNG-run auto rickshaws and 10 motorcycles have been recovered.

He also added that 600 bottles of phensidyl, 800 bottles of beer, 500 pieces of yaba and three kilograms of hemp have been seized. Apart from this, one LD TV, two laptops, three DVD players, 20 mobile phone sets have also been recovered, he added.
