Update : 21 Apr 2014, 10:12 AM

A Mymensingh court has placed four members of Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) on a 10-day remand in a case filed in connection with snatching convicted JMB militants and killing a police member.

The militants are Al Amin, 26, Syed Ziaul Islam, 24, Md Ajmeer, 32, and Golam Sarwar Rahat, 27.

Judge Farzana Yeasmin granted the remand after police had produced the JMB men before Mymensingh Cognizance Court 4 with a 10-day remand plea.

Earlier on March 15, Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested 11 suspected militants including two financiers connected to the snatching of three JMB militants.

The law enforcers also seized 4.5kg explosives and a motorbike from the possessions of the detainees.

On February 23, miscreants snatched three condemned JMB militants while they were being taken to Mymensingh from Kashimpur jail, Gazipur, after hurling bombs at the police van. A police constable died in the incident.

Later, police recaptured one militant Rakib, who was killed in ‘crossfire’ on February 24, hours after he was held.

However, two remaining militants Salauddin Salehin and bomb specialist Mizan are still on the run.
