A Dhaka court on Sunday show caused the Investigation Officer of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police for failing to submit the probe reports in the cases filed in connection with the April Rana Plaza collapse.
Sunday was the last date for filing the reports.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Kazi Shahidul Islam fixed December 24 for submitting the reports as Investigation Officer Bijoy Krishna Kar, also CID inspector, failed to submit the reports on Sunday.
Meanwhile, 14 accused of the cases, currently in custody, were produced before the court. The eight other accused – now on bail granted by the High Court – also appeared in the court.
The Rana Plaza collapse on 24 April claimed at least 1,134 lives – mostly workers belonging to the five garment factories housed in the building – and left around 2,500 others injured.
