Dhaka Metropolitan Police acting commissioner Md Sarwar said on Thursday that 11,000 CCTV cameras will be installed across the capital to strengthen security and help track criminals.
He made the remarks at a program held at a temporary DMP camp in Bosila, Mohammadpur, Dhaka.
Sarwar said images of listed criminals will be published, urging the public to share information about them.
He also said the DMP will soon launch mobile apps containing information on hotel and restaurant owners and managers, as well as tenants of houses and buildings.
