Update : 29 Jun 2020, 01:13 AM

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Cyber Crime unit has received a written complaint against SK Films - owned by Bangladesh film star Shakib Khan - and the Robi Commercial YouTube channel alleging breach of copyright.

Barrister Olora Afrin submitted the complaint on behalf of veteran singer Diruba Khan, Ashraf Udas and lyricist Kaiser Ahmed, confirmed DMP Cyber Crime unit Additional Commissioner (ADC) Nazmul Islam.

He said he had directed the complainant to file a case with a police station or court.

According to police, the complainants claim Shakib Khan's movie "Password" (2018) uses some lines from the popular Bangla movie song "Pagol Mon, Mon Re, Mon Keno Eto Kotha Bole.”

Olora Afrin said Shakib Khan used the lines of the song, which were copyrighted, without permission and the movie was promoted on the Robi Commercial YouTube Channel.
