Four more children have died from measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00am on Friday, raising the overall death toll from the ongoing outbreak to 894.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified all four of the latest casualties as suspected.
With the latest figures, the total number of suspected measles deaths has reached 795, while the number of confirmed deaths remained unchanged at 99, as no new confirmed measles deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
Among the latest suspected fatalities, Sylhet division recorded the highest count with two deaths. At the district level, one casualty each was reported in Sylhet, Sunamganj, Dhaka, and Chittagong.
A total of 972 suspected measles cases were recorded in the 24 hours till Friday morning, taking the overall suspected case tally to 141,048.
During the same period, 187 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 17,730.
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 122,794 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized across the country, of whom 118,540 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the DGHS.
