Dr Md Robed Amin, a professor of medicine at Dhaka Medical College, has been appointed as the acting director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
A notification was issued on Sunday in this connection.
Prior to this, he was serving as the line director at the Non-Communicable Disease Control (NCDC) unit within the DGHS.
Earlier in the day, the government terminated the contractual appointment of Prof Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam as the DGHS director general.
