A shipment of Sinopharm coronavirus vaccines under the Covax program is on its way to Dhaka, the Chinese embassy said on Tuesday.
The consignment of 1.7 million doses departed Dhaka from Beijing airport around 5.30am, according to Deputy Chief Mission Hualong Yan.
In a Facebook post, the Dhaka-based Chinese official said that the consignment is set to arrive Dhaka this morning.
"We'll be coming soon for vaccine co-producing," he wrote.

The third consignment of Sinopharm's Covid-19 vaccine doses arrived in Bangladesh from China on 30 July.
Bangladesh has purchased 15 million doses of vaccine from Sinopharm which is expected to arrive in the country within three months.
