A Dutch delegation has sought cooperation from Khulna University (KU) to establish a ‘People’s Partnership’ between Bangladesh and the Netherlands.
The delegation, comprising Rob Vissers and Timo Koren of Hope XXL, Benjamin Loman of Vice Versa Global, and Jeanie Marissen of Utrecht University, paid a courtesy call on KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Rezaul Karim.
During the meeting, the delegation members said the initiative could become a new-generation model of international cooperation, enabling young people from both countries to jointly develop social projects, schools and universities to exchange knowledge, journalists to share stories, businesses to collaborate on innovation, and local governments and public institutions to exchange experiences.
They expressed the hope that the partnership could eventually inspire similar initiatives between other countries and sought KU’s support for its implementation.
The vice-chancellor said KU has already collaborated with several Dutch universities, including Wageningen University & Research and Utrecht University, and assured the delegation of all possible cooperation.
He suggested setting up information corners during major university events, including KU Day on November 25, to highlight educational and research opportunities in the Netherlands.
