Covid-19: Chittagong death toll crosses 300

The total mortality rate so far stands at 1.51% in the port city

Death toll from the novel coronavirus has crossed the 300-mark in Chittagong.

As of Wednesday, a total of 301 patients have died of the deadly disease in the port city.

Of them, 208 people are from the city, while the remaining are from different upazilas within the district.

The total mortality rate so far stands at 1.51%.

In Chittagong, the death count from Covid-19 crossed the 100-mark on June 9 and the 200-mark on July 7.

So far, 115,991 samples have been tested, while 19,809 people have been diagnosed with the infectious disease in Chittagong.

Of them, 14,352 people are from the city while the remaining 5,457 people are from different upazilas of Chittagong.

The total positivity rate so far stands at 17.07%.

As of October 14, 15638 people have recovered from Covid-19.

Of them, 3,187 people recovered while undergoing treatment at different hospitals and 12,451 recovered in home isolation.

The total recovery rate so far stands at 79%.

On April 3, Chittagong recorded its first case of Covid-19.

On June 2, the city exceeded 3,000 novel coronavirus cases.

On June 19, Chittagong crossed the 6000-mark for Covid-19 cases.

On June 29, the number of coronavirus cases crossed the 8000-mark in Chittagong.

On July 6, Chittagong recorded 10,000 cases of Covid-19.

On July 16, the number of Covid-19 positive cases crossed the 12,000-mark in the port city.

On October 3, the number of Covid-19 cases in Chittagong crossed the 19,000-mark.
