Chittagong Division shows the second highest number of deaths in Bangladesh, with one in every four infected persons dying from Covid-19 in the division.
A total of 521 deaths or 26.08% deaths out of a total of 1997 deaths confirmed so far are from Chittagong Division, as shown by data compiled by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Dhaka Division, with a total of 1041 deaths, holds the top position for deaths reported from Covid-19.
In the 24 hours between Friday and Saturday mornings, 29 patients died across the country, including nine fatalities in Dhaka Division and four fatalities in Chittagong Division.
Just a month ago, on June 4, nine deaths were reported from Chittagong Division.
On July 1, 13 deaths were reported, 11 deaths occurred on July 2, and 18 deaths were reported on July 3 from Covid-19 in the division.
