The Covid-19 infection rate in Bangladesh stood at 22.37% on Monday, with 3,480 new cases confirmed in the 24 hours from Sunday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
A total of 16,287 samples were collected between Sunday and Monday, and 15,555 among them were tested at 62 authorized labs - both government and private - across the country, said Additional Director General (Administration) Prof Nasima Sultana.
The total number of Covid-19 cases in the country now stands at 115,786 with an overall death toll of 1,502.
The infection rate was 22.66% on Sunday and reached an all-time high of 23.39% on June 18.
A total 3,803 out of 16,259 tests came back positive on June 18, as the country crossed the grim 100,000 cases mark.
The highest number of positive Covid-19 tests in 24 hours was on June 17, when 4,008 new cases were confirmed from 17,527 tests.
In all, 627,719 tests have been conducted, so far.
