The Covid-19 infection rate continues to spike in Bangladesh with 22.44% of samples tested combing back positive on Tuesday – the second highest infection rate since the pandemic arrived on March 8.

Health authorities between Monday and Tuesday mornings tested 17,214 samples at 61 laboratories across the country, of which 3,862 or 22.44% came back positive.
The highest infection rate registered in the country, so far, is 22.91% on June 2.

As of Tuesday afternoon, over 94,000 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 1,262 deaths from the deadly disease had been recorded in the country.
