The daily percentage of people testing Covid-19 positive in Bangladesh decreased again on Wednesday, with around 19.98% of the total people tested between Tuesday and Wednesday mornings being found infected.
In line with the latest data, the overall positivity percentage also remained below 20%.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 15,965 samples of suspected patients were tested between Tuesday and Wednesday mornings in different laboratories across the country.
Of them, a record number of 3,190 samples came back positive for the novel coronavirus, which is 19.98% of all samples tested in that 24-hour span.

It was 21.62% on Tuesday, 21.13% on Monday, 20.88% on Sunday, 21.10% on Saturday, and 20.07% on Friday.
Of the 441,560 Covid-19 samples tested across the country from January 21 until Wednesday, as many as 74,865 cases — 16.95% — had turned out positive.
Till May 24, the positivity percentage in Bangladesh was below 20%. From the following day, the upward trend had continued, except on May 27, May 30, June 4 and June 10.
The daily positivity percentage had reached an all-time high — 22.91% — between June 1 and June 2, which was reported on June 2.
Until Wednesday afternoon, the country recorded 1,012 deaths, while some 15,899 people recovered from the deadly Covid-19, which has killed more than 414,100 people across the world.
