Former Sylhet mayor Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran, who recently tested positive for Covid-19, will receive plasma therapy on Monday.Kamran’s family disclosed the information.
Kamran’s nephew Wasim said physicians are keeping Kamran under close observation.
“He will receive plasma therapy today. Plasma from two people has been prepared for this purpose,” he added.
Earlier on Friday, Kamran, an Awami League Central Working Committee member, tested positive for the deadly virus. His sample was tested in Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital’s PCR lab.
He was in self-isolation that night, but was hospitalized on Saturday morning with nausea and fever. He was on ventilation support in the hospital’s ICU.
Kamran was taken to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka on Sunday evening via an air ambulance.
On May 27, his wife Asma Kamran tested coronavirus positive. She is self-isolating at home and currently healthy, said her family.
