At least six more people with symptoms similar to those of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) died between Thursday night to Friday in five districts.
Meanwhile, the health authorities collected samples from the deceased and sent them to the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) labs to be tested for Covid-19.
In Gazipur, a 50-year-old man suffering from shortness of breath and cough died in Bhatardi Daskshin para village in Kaliganj upazila on Friday, said Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Sadikur Rahman Akand.
In Sylhet, a 30-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man died on Friday while undergoing treatment at Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital on Friday, said Residential Medical Officer(RMO) Sushanta Kumar Mohapatro. Both were suffering from shortness of breath, cough and cold, added the RMO.
In Cox's Bazar, a 35-year-old man died while undergoing treatment at the isolation unit of Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital on Friday, said director Dr Md Mohiuddin. The patient was admitted here with fever, cough and cold, he added.
In Bogra, a 50-year- old auto-rickshaw driver suffering from cough, fever, and cold died while undergoing treatment at the isolation unit of Mohammad Ali Hospital on Thursday night, said Sonaltola Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shafikur Alom.
In Joypurhat, a 60-year-old man who had recently returned from Narayanganj died in Raigram village of Panchbibi upazila on Thursday, said upazila Health and Family Planning officer Dr Md Shahid Hossain.
