The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is set hold an extraordinary meeting of its executive committee at the foreign minister level on Wednesday, in order to address issues related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The meeting will be held through video conference.
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen will represent Bangladesh, one of the members of the executive committee. The other five members are Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Gambia, the United Arab Emirates, and Niger.
The meeting will be presided over by Saudi Arabia, chair of the 14th Islamic summit conference. OIC Secretary General Dr Yousef A Al-Othaimeen will also attend the meeting.
The meeting is part of a series of measures taken and campaigns launched by the organization of 57 Muslim-majority countries since the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, according to OIC.
OIC Secretary General Al-Othaimeen said foreign ministers will review the effects of the novel coronavirus pandemic on public health, security and the financial stability of the member states during the meeting.
