The government has appointed Abu Abdullah M Saleh as press secretary to the prime minister on a contractual basis.
A notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday said the appointment will take effect from the date of joining. He will receive the status and salary equivalent to that of a secretary to the government, with a monthly basic pay of Tk78,000.
The appointment has been made on condition that he severs ties with any other profession, business or organization—government, semi-government or private—before assuming the post.
Other terms and conditions of the appointment will be determined by the contract, the notification added.
