The government has decided to keep fuel prices unchanged at the consumer level in July, based on the revised pricing formula and guidelines.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources on Sunday, the prices will remain fixed at Tk102 per litre for diesel, Tk114 for kerosene, Tk122 for octane, and Tk118 for petrol.

The new rates, which will come into effect from Tuesday, have been fixed and approved by the relevant authorities, the ministry said.

Earlier in June, the price of diesel was reduced from Tk104 to Tk102 per litre, petrol from Tk121 to Tk118, and octane from Tk125 to Tk122.

The kerosene price, however, was increased by Tk10 to Tk114 per litre at that time.

On June 24, Energy Adviser Fouzul Kabir Khan said the government had no plan to raise fuel prices at home, despite a slight increase in global oil prices due to tensions in the Middle East.

On June 17, Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed said the government was closely monitoring the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel but had no immediate plan to raise fuel prices.
