Six reform commissions' term extended

A 90-day period was set for submitting reports

The term of six commissions formed to drive reforms in various state sectors after the July revolution has been extended until February 15.

On Monday, a notification regarding this was issued by the Cabinet Division. 

The six commissions are: the Public Administration Reform Commission, the Police Reform Commission, the Election System Reform Commission, the Anti-Corruption Reform Commission, the Constitution Reform Commission, and the Judiciary Reform Commission.

Earlier, on September 11, the Chief Adviser of the Interim Government, Dr Muhammad Yunus, announced the formation of these six commissions in an address to the nation.

The Constitution Reform Commission was formed on October 6, while the other five reform commissions were established on October 3 with a notification from the Cabinet Division.

After forming the commissions, a 90-day time frame was set for submitting their reports.

As per this, the terms of all commissions except the Constitution Reform Commission ended on January 2.

The term of the Constitution Reform Commission ended on January 4.

Subsequently, a notification issued on January 2 extended the term of the Judiciary Reform Commission until January 31 and extended the term of the other five commissions until January 15.
