Three special assistants have been appointed to Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus, with each receiving the executive authority of a ministry at the rank of state minister.
The appointed special assistants are Khuda Baksh Chowdhury, Dr Sayedur Rahman, and Professor Dr M Aminul Islam.
A Cabinet Division notification, issued Sunday night, confirmed the appointments, detailing that Khuda Baksh Chowdhury will oversee the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dr Sayedur Rahman will head the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and Prof Dr M Aminul Islam will handle the Ministry of Education.
These assignments come as part of the interim government’s effort to ensure continuity across key sectors.
The notification also specified that, in their capacity as special assistants, they will receive the rank, remuneration, and privileges of state ministers.
