Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus has announced that a free, fair, and participatory election will follow necessary reforms to the administration, judiciary, Election Commission, electoral system, and law and order.
In his address to the nation broadcasted by BTV, BTV World, and BTV Chittagong, Prof Yunus emphasized that the election's goal will be to establish an accountable political system combating corruption, looting, and mass killing.
He highlighted the need for strengthening local government institutions and ensuring power decentralization to bolster democracy.
Prof Yunus also said that all interim government advisers will promptly disclose their wealth statements, with a phased mandate for all government officials.
Additionally, an ordinance will be enacted to appoint an ombudsman in accordance with Article 77 of the Constitution to combat state-level corruption.
