Senior secretaries and secretaries from the ministries run by Dr Muhammad Yunus, chief advisor for Bangladesh’s newly formed interim government, met with him on Monday.
Multiple sources confirmed that the meeting was taking place at the chief advisor’s official residence, State Guest House Jamuna.
Army chief General Waker-uz-Zaman also met with the chief advisor, according to media reports.
Meanwhile, the secretaries were expected to brief Dr Yunus on their ministries' action plans.
Sources indicated that the chief advisor might provide directives to all ministries under his jurisdiction.
On Thursday, a 17-member interim government was formed under the leadership of Dr Yunus.
The next day, the Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification assigning the responsibilities of the advisors of the interim government.
Dr Muhammad Yunus was given the responsibility of over 20 ministries.
