Bangladesh Railway (BR) is selling advance tickets for return journeys after Eid-ul-Fitr.
The sale of tickets for May 7 and 8 began on Wednesday from the stations and online.
According to Kamalapur railway station authorities, passengers can buy tickets from the stations from where they will begin their journey.
Employees of government and private offices got a long vacation this time as the weekend holidays and the May Day holiday merged with the Eid holidays.
People in huge numbers started leaving Dhaka on railways on the last working day on April 28 before the vacation.
On an average 53,000 passengers left Dhaka by train every day before Eid, according to Kamalapur station authorities.
While the Eid holidays end Wednesday, many employees of government and private offices will join the office on Sunday by taking extra leave on Thursday.
