Update : 21 Oct 2026, 06:42 PM

Three Bangladeshis who fled a scam compound in Myanmar and took refuge in Thailand are scheduled to return home on Thursday.

They are expected to arrive in Dhaka at 4:20pm on US-Bangla Airlines flight BS-218, according to the scheduled itinerary.

The returnees are Md Saidur Rahman, Robiul and Md Sohel Rana.

Anirban Survivor Voice Foundation took the initiative to repatriate them following complaints from the victims and their families. On August 24, the organisation applied to the Wage Earners’ Welfare Board under the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, seeking assistance in bringing them home.

In response, the board’s Director Md Saidur Rahman issued a letter instructing the first secretary (labour) at the Bangladesh Embassy in Bangkok to take the necessary steps.

The letter called for measures to secure the release and repatriation of eight Bangladeshis staying at a safe house under the referral mechanism of Thailand’s Mae Sot Immigration Office.

Of the eight, three are scheduled to return home on Thursday, while legal procedures are underway to repatriate the remaining five.
