Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen has called on new Foreign Secretary Md Jashim Uddin on Thursday.
The two sides had in-depth exchanges of views on China-Bangladesh relations, pragmatic cooperation in various fields, celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties and regional and international issues of common concern, the embassy said.
China, earlier, welcomed the formation of the interim government, and said the friendship between China and Bangladesh runs long and deep.
"China values its relations with Bangladesh, and stands ready to work with Bangladesh to promote bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various areas and further advance our comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership," Beijing said after the formation of the interim government on August 8.
