UK Royal College of Defence Studies delegation calls on Bangladesh army chief

Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed and RCDS delegation discuss various issues related to military education

A delegation of the Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS) of the United Kingdom on Tuesday paid a courtesy call on Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed at the army headquarters.

Royal College of Defence Studies Deputy Commandant Air Vice Marshal Gary Tunnicliffe was present as the team leader, said an ISPR press release.

After exchanging greetings, the chief of army staff thanked the delegation for its visit to Bangladesh and discussed various issues related to military education.

The delegation attended a dinner at Dhaka Cantonment on Monday evening at the invitation of the chief of army staff.

The dinner was attended by Javed Patel, acting British high commissioner to Bangladesh, and other senior officials of the high commission.

Senior officials of the Bangladesh Armed Forces, Foreign Service Academy, Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Brac were also present.

The 20-member delegation arrived in Bangladesh on May 14 and it is scheduled to leave on May 21.
