The Bangladesh Army has warned against the circulation of misleading, baseless and malicious information involving the force and the army chief on various online platforms and social media.

The army said such propaganda appears aimed at confusing the public and tarnishing its image.

The warning came in a press release published on the Bangladesh Army’s verified Facebook page on Saturday.

The release said the army had recently noticed the spread of misleading and deliberate information involving the force and its chief on various online platforms and social media.

It also shared links to several Facebook posts and YouTube videos as examples of the alleged misinformation.

The army urged people not to be influenced by such misleading and malicious propaganda.

It said the Bangladesh Army remains united through a strong chain of command, mutual trust, unity, discipline and professionalism, and is firmly committed to fulfilling its responsibilities to the country and its people.

The army also urged the public to verify information concerning the force or its chief through official and reliable sources.
