At the meeting, Minna assured that she would extend assistance and cooperation to take forward the friendly relations between Bangladesh and Canada in the future.
Meanwhile, Munshi noted that there is still a vaccine crisis in Bangladesh and hoped to get Canada’s cooperation in that regard.
“I hope trade between the two countries will expand further after the Canadian federal election this year,” he added.

In his remarks, lawmaker Erskine-Smith said: "If Trudeau forms the government again in this year’s election, the issue of special quotas for Bangladeshi students [in Canada] will be given utmost importance."
He also mentioned the Canadian government's interest in expanding trade between the two countries.
At the meeting, expatriate businessmen living in Canada presented various proposals on behalf of local businesses. One of the notable proposals was the marketing of canola oil from Canada to Bangladesh. They also urged the representatives of the two countries to take measures to ensure that Bangladeshi products could enter the Canadian market freely.
Following the exchange of views, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi visited the place popularly known as Bangla Town in Danforth, Toronto and spoke with the Bangladeshi expatriates living there.
