PM Hasina flies to Canada today to attend G7 outreach session

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will leave for Canada this evening to attend the Outreach Leaders Programme of G7, the group of seven countries with advanced economies in the world.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invited 12 world leaders, including Hasina, to take part in a special outreach session of the G7 Summit. During her four-day visit, Sheikh Hasina will join the outreach session at Quebec City in Canada on Saturday.

On Sunday, she will also hold a bilateral meeting with her Canadian counterpart, Justin Trudeau, in Quebec in the morning, and join a views-exchange with Bangladesh expatriates in Toronto in the evening.

Hasina will also hold a meeting with Canada’s special envoy on the Rohingya crisis, Bob Rae, in Toronto on Monday.

An Emirates flight with Hasina and her entourage, will take off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport today at 7:30pm  for Toronto.

Trade, investment, cooperation in achieving SDGs, political affairs, cooperation in the blue economy, and the Rohingya crisis will be discussed at the bilateral meeting, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali said on Wednesday, while briefing journalists on the prime minister’s visit.
