Leading human resource professionals, corporate executives, and academics on Saturday emphasized strengthening long-term partnerships between industry and higher education institutions to address the challenges posed by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, artificial intelligence (AI), and the evolving global labor market.
The speakers made the remarks at HR Summit 2026: "Empowering Today's Talent to Lead Tomorrow," organized by the Center for Career Development (CCD) of Green University of Bangladesh at the university campus.
They said Bangladesh's young population must be equipped with future-ready skills, effective leadership, and employment-oriented competencies to remain globally competitive.
The day-long summit brought together more than 30 human resource (HR) professionals, corporate executives, academics, administrative officials, students, and young professionals. It featured 3 panel discussions and 2 roundtable sessions on the future workforce, leadership development, employability skills, talent management, technology-driven HR management, workplace transformation in the age of AI, and industry-academia collaboration.
Speakers throughout the event said closer collaboration between universities and industry is essential to bridge the gap between academic learning and workplace requirements.
Delivering the keynote address, Vice Chancellor of Green University of Bangladesh Professor Dr Mohammad Shorif Uddin said: "The HR Summit is not merely an event; it is an effective platform for building long-term partnerships between the university and the corporate sector. Our goal is not only to award degrees but also to develop our students into successful professionals and future leaders."
Pro Vice Chancellor of Green University of Bangladesh Professor Dr Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, the special guest, said: "Alongside technical knowledge, effective communication skills, creativity, and leadership are the fundamental pillars of a student's career development. This summit will provide valuable new directions for our students."
HR experts at the summit said lifelong learning and continuous skill development have become increasingly important as technology advances. They added that strengthening the professional skills, career readiness, and leadership capabilities of Bangladesh's youth would support sustainable economic growth and improve the country's global competitiveness.
The panel discussions and roundtable sessions included senior executives, HR leaders, and industry experts from various organizations, including ABM Yusuf Ali Khan of Aman Group, Sheikh Aminur Rahman of Prime Bank FinTech Limited, Ashfaqur Rahman of Kazi & Kazi Tea Estate Ltd, and Zia Uddin Mahmud of Creative Business Group.
Participants also took part in interactive discussions and question-and-answer sessions on contemporary HR challenges, future opportunities, and workplace innovation.
The summit concluded with the presentation of commemorative awards to the speakers and panelists.
