Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali on Thursday instructed police officers to remain on high alert regarding any activities of the "banned political party," referring to the Awami League, and potential acts of sabotage.
While presiding over the monthly crime review meeting for April at the Rajarbagh Police Auditorium, he emphasized the need for unwavering professionalism, urging officers to continue working to ensure public safety and service delivery with the utmost dedication.
Addressing DMP personnel, the commissioner said the police are a disciplined force governed by laws and regulations.
He noted that officers must uphold excellence in their duties through professional conduct, proper presentation, dedicated service and firmness.
There is no scope for unprofessional behaviour or laxity in responsibilities, he said, urging respectful and courteous interaction with the public.
The commissioner also instructed that each police station form specialized teams to enhance investigations, recover stolen goods and tackle narcotics-related offences.
He stressed the need to intensify efforts in crime control and improve the rate of case resolutions.
He further said that, amid prevailing challenges, every member of the DMP is striving to fulfil their responsibilities with strong morale and professionalism.
