The Center for Enterprise and Society (CES), ULAB recently hosted a panel discussion on 'Youth Aspirations in Bangladesh', shedding light on the career hopes, challenges, and opportunities for young professionals in the country.
The discussion was based on CES’s latest large-scale survey, which examined youth perspectives in four key areas: labor market awareness, career preparedness, entrepreneurship, and migration.
The findings provide valuable insights into how young people perceive their career prospects and the barriers they face in an evolving economic landscape.
To bring these insights into focus, four prominent HR specialists from the startup, MNC, RMG, and development sectors shared their expertise on the evolving job landscape.
The panelists discussed what employers are looking for, the common gaps in young job seekers, and practical steps to enhance career readiness.
They also explored the realities of entrepreneurship, job security, and how candidates can stand out in today’s competitive market.
The discussants include: Sifat Hasan – human resources & creative freelancer, Syeda Farzana Maisha – HR manager at a multinational fashion brand, Nishat Jahan Khan – assistant manager, HR, American & Efird Bangladesh, Parveen Huda – independent consultant
The discussion was conducted by Md Mushfiqur Rahman, senior manager, Projects and Research, CES, ULAB.
