The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) hosted a meeting with representatives of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) at its campus on Thursday.

The ACU delegation was led by Professor Colin Riordan, Secretary General and CEO of the association, and Membership Engagement Lead for South Asia Ikita Pokharna.

The meeting was attended by ULAB Vice Chancellor Professor Shamsad Mortuza, PhD; Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Jude William Genilo, PhD; the registrar; deans of various faculties; heads of academic departments; and senior administrative officials.

During the meeting, both sides discussed ULAB’s engagement with the ACU and explored areas of collaboration in line with the ACU Charter, focusing on internationalisation, academic partnerships, and the advancement of higher education across the Commonwealth.

ULAB Vice Chancellor Professor Shamsad Mortuza said the engagement marked an important step in strengthening the university’s international outlook. He said closer cooperation with the ACU would open new opportunities for students and faculty and enhance ULAB’s contribution to global knowledge sharing.

The discussion also highlighted potential cooperation in student and faculty mobility, research, academic exchange, professional development, and doctoral studies.
