Former mayor Ekramul Haque Titu is ahead in the Mymensingh City Corporation (MCC) election.
The voting in the by-polls took place from 8am to 4pm.
The results of MCC by-polls are being announced at the Tarek Memorial Auditorium in Mymensingh.
So far the unofficial results of 82 out of 128 centres have been announced.
Ekramul Haque (clock), also the president of the city Awami League, is ahead by getting 77,940 votes.
His nearest rival district Awami League advisor Sadekul Haque Khan (Elephant) got 19,087 votes.
Besides, District Awami League president Ehtesamul Alam (Horse) got 6,077 votes.
Meanwhile, Independent candidate agriculturist Rezaul Haque (Deer) got 825 votes and Jatiya Party candidate Shahidul Islam (Plough) got 615 votes.
According to the sources of the returning officer's office, there are a total of 33 wards in the Mymensingh city.
Five candidates for the post of mayor, 69 for the post of reserved councilor and 149 for the post of general councilor are contesting in the polls.
A ward councilor has been elected unopposed as there are no rival candidates.
The total number of polling stations in Mymensingh City Corporation are 128.
The total number of voters in the election is 336, 496. Among them, 172,615 are female voters and 163,872 are male.
