Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader called for an investigation to determine whether there is any connection between ongoing terrorist activities and the BNP's call to boycott the election.
Quader made these remarks during a press briefing in his constituency on Saturday morning.
Expressing deep concern, Quader said: "We are observing with deep anger and concern that BNP and their allies have started massive terrorist activities, including sabotage and arson, ahead of the January 7 election."
He strongly condemned the recent train fire in Dhaka's Gopibagh, claiming that BNP and Jamaat were engaging in destructive actions, emphasizing that these acts should be investigated.
Quader said that BNP, based on a federal judgment in Canada, had once again proven itself to be a terrorist organization.
He noted that BNP had called for winning votes while simultaneously spreading anti-election propaganda.
Quader urged an investigation to determine any link between ongoing anti-terrorist activities and BNP's election strategy.
He reassured the public that the election would be peaceful, free, and fair.
Quader urged voters to ignore rumours and propaganda, emphasizing that foreign observers and journalists were monitoring the election.
He called BNP the "killer of democracy" and urged the public not to be misled by their rumours.
Addressing Awami League leaders and activists, Quader cautioned them to be vigilant against potential sabotage by BNP.
He expressed confidence in the victory of the Awami League government and Sheikh Hasina's leadership.
Quader also warned that strict measures would be taken against any post-election misconduct by BNP-Jamaat.
He emphasized that no terrorist activities would be tolerated, and those engaging in such actions would be prosecuted.
He pledged to prevent BNP from causing unrest in the streets and affirmed that strong measures would be taken promptly.
